Na deze dingen?

Openb 4:1 en 2 worden als sleutelversen gezien. Want daar lezen we ‘Ik zal u tonen wat NA deze dingen moet gebeuren’. Tenminste dat staat in bijna alle vertalingen. 

Vaak wordt er bij de grondtekst uitgelegd dat er vroeger geen punten en komma’s gebruikt werden. Waardoor we niet altijd weten waar een zin begint of eindigt. Dat lijkt hier ook het geval te zijn. 

Openb 4: 1-2 wordt in de HSV vertaald als:

1 Hierna zag ik, en zie, er was een deur geopend in de hemel. En de eerste stem die ik als van een bazuin met mij had horen spreken, zei: Kom hier, omhoog, en Ik zal u laten zien wat hierna moet geschieden.
2. En meteen raakte ik in geestvervoering. En zie, er stond een troon in de hemel, en op de troon zat Iemand.

Tegenwoordig zijn we niet meer afhankelijk van de vertaling van een persoon, dus laten we deze teksten eens door digitale vertaler halen. En laten we gelijk 2 verschillende grondteksten nemen.

Als je deze vertalingen vergelijkt dan is duidelijk te zien dat ‘after these things’ bij aan het eind van vers 1 kan staan, maar ook aan het begin van vers 2. 

Wat juist is weet ik niet. En dat is misschien niet eens zo belangrijk. Wat mij wel belangrijk lijkt is dat we hier geen hele grote conclusies aan mogen verbinden. Net zoals we dat ook niet bij andere teksten doen. 

NB. Google translate hebben we ook geprobeerd, maar die kan blijkbaar geen oud-grieks vertalen.
